Chandlers were pleased to support the Riseholme College Schools Event, with Andrew Silvester – Chandlers Academy Manager on hand to discuss potential careers opportunities, with children of all ages from the local area in Agricultural Engineering and associated job roles within an Agricultural Machinery Dealership.
Over the course of 3 days more than 1,500 school children from the ages of 10/11, right through to this years school leavers from secondary school visited the Riseholme campus and were given a taste of the careers that might interest them in the future. Chandlers were pleased to represent local business and support British Farming making these children aware of the great range of careers available to them locally. These highly skilled and well paid jobs within Chandlers Farm Machinery business, are not always well represented in schools, where the focus might be on traditional academic career paths, however the roles in Agricultural Engineering are highly trained, highly skilled and well paid jobs that many might otherwise overlook.
Chandlers look forward to in a few years’ time, some of these children taking part in our comprehensive apprenticeship program – in conjunction with Riseholme College and AGCO, and be the skilled and valued engineers of the future.
