Agricultural Parts Advisor, Bristol
About us
Chandlers (Farm Equipment) Ltd has been servicing the needs of the agricultural, vehicle and groundscare industries for over 85 years and are one of the largest AGCO dealers in the UK, supplying new machines and aftersales for Massey Ferguson (Chandlers (MF) Ltd), Fendt & Valtra (Chandlers (FV) Ltd), and JCB (via Chandlers RFM). As an Agricultural Parts Advisor, you will:
  • Provide parts advice to our customers as required to meet their needs, internal and external fairly, efficiently and with courtesy at all times, with a view to maintaining a good relationship between the Company and its customers.
  • Deal with all enquiries, orders and queries received (written/telephone/verbal), quickly and efficiently, providing a good service at all times.
  • Be involved with the stock control and computer input of parts and goods from a wide range of prestigious agricultural brands.
  • Undertake the inspection and receipt of deliveries of goods inwards and accompanying documentation, and to store in a good and proper condition
  • 8am-5.30pm Monday – Friday, weekend days by department rota. With additional overtime when needed.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A good knowledge of Agricultural parts and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of this. Or equivalent knowledge in a similar field like HGV or the motor industry.
  • Have excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • An eye for detail, accuracy and data entry.
  • Experience with working to challenging deadlines.
  • Must be computer literate
  • A UK driving licence.

Trainee / Apprentice Parts Advisor, Bristol

We are a leading AGCO dealer and we currently have an opening for a Trainee Parts Assistant or an Apprentice Parts Assistant to join our expanding parts department at our Bristol Depot.

This full-time position is primarily involved in the sale, stock control and computer input of parts and goods for a wide range of premium brand agricultural and horticultural machinery. Duties also include assisting the parts department as required, and providing support for reception in the afternoon.

The successful applicant must be ambitious to become a valued member of the team. They must also have strong communication skills and be keen to deliver a first-class customer service. A knowledge of either agricultural machinery, or mechanics would also be beneficial.

  • Willing to undergo any additional training and specific manufacturer training to further develop and update your skillset.
  • Experienced in working with agricultural machinery and willing to work overtime in peak farming and agricultural seasons.
  • Able to problem solve and work under pressure in sometimes challenging conditions and deadlines.

  • Be responsible for repairing and maintaining Agricultural machinery including Tractors and combines on some of the most prestigious agricultural brands in the world.
  • Need to keep accurate records.
  • Diagnose and repair problems with machinery ensuring the machinery will operate to a high standard in alignment with the manufacturers’ specification, and is safe to use.
  • Demonstrate and install machinery where needed.
  • Need to work with service and workshop managers and ensure challenging timelines are met.
  • Travel to customers in the surrounding area of your depot to service and repair machinery. (Must have a full driving licence)
 
The ideal candidate will be:
  • Qualified in Land Based Engineering at a Level 3 (or have an equivalent qualification in HGV, Plant or Construction)
  • Able to communicate with a wide range of customers and colleagues.
  • Willing to undergo any additional training and specific manufacturer training to further develop and update your skillset.
