Stewart Trailers

Trailers for farming, agricultural and construction users. Unrivalled build quality, design and attention to detail with superb paint finish.
Operating from a modern manufacturing facility in the rolling Aberdeenshire countryside in the North-East of Scotland, Stewart Trailers are sold throughout the UK and abroad.

Range includes: Tipping Trailers, Construction and Dumper Trailers, Flat Trailers, Low Loader Trailers and Livestock Trailers.

Tipping Trailers

Stewart produce a number of tipping trailer ranges. The GX Range are standard tipping trailers built with a mild steel body. The trailers are built with a box section chassis and the body has a box section body frame and top rail for strength and durability.

The PRO Series Trailers are built with more durable, lighter and longer lasting Hardox Bodies. A tipper body made from Hardox is more durable due to the unique combination of hardness and toughness. Using Hardox allows for a body design with a minimum number of reinforcing beams on the outside therefore saving weight without losing strength.

The Road King Trailer is built on three axles with air suspension, with an optional rear steer axle for added manoeuvrability. Three axles on the trailer keep the maximum axle weight to 8 tonnes. The Road King is fitted with an air braking system with load sensing and abs and no hydraulic braking. The standard model also features a roll cover, front view grille and radial flotation tyres.

The EDGE Trailers are a range of small dropside trailers. The trailers have a multi-function back door including spreader chain points and are built to withstand tough conditions. The EDGE trailers are built with a hardox body, hardox is tougher than mild steel. Stewart have been approved members of the ‘hardox in my body’ scheme since 2013 and have chosen the wear plate to make our edge trailers tough and reliable. The EDGE trailers have an integral body prop so maintenance can be carried out safely. The back doors on the trailers hinge from the top or can be opened to the side thanks to a clever system of catches. Spreader chain points allow the door to be secured partially open for spreading loose material.

Construction & Dumper Trailers

Stewart produce three types of construction trailers: Construction Dumper trailers with a scow tail, Construction Monocoque trailers which have a flat floor and the Construction PRO trailers with a Hardox® body. Please get in touch for more information.

Flat Trailers

Our standard flat trailers can be supplied with a 4mm steel floor or a 28mm Keruing floor for the same price. The standard flat trailer is used with our livestock floats, for carrying a float we recommend a Keruing floor and 435/50rx19.5 tyres. Please get in touch for more information.

Stewart have two models of bale trailers available from 26ft to 36ft based on the standard flat trailer range. There is a trailer for two rows of bales and the other version carries three rows high. The trailers can be used for round or square bales, the important point is that the retaining arm must be at least half way up the bale to keep it securely on the trailer.

When using the trailer you do need to stack the bales neatly, the frames are not there to be used to tidy up a poorly stacked load. When the bales are loaded you just raise the frames to hold the bales in place and that’s it ready to travel. It is much quicker and easier than using straps; it is also safer, no one needs to stand near the unsecured bales as you would when using straps. It is important when you unload the trailer that you stay clear when the frames are lowered in case any bales have shifted during transit as they may fall.

Low Loader Trailers

Stewart Low Loader Trailers are fitted with a 45mm Keruing floor. Hydraulically operated ramps are standard on 15 tonne and 22 tonne models. Every trailer is custom built, there are a wide variety of optional extra items available to choose from. Open tread ramps, timber clad ramps or steel ramps that can be galvanised or paint finished can be supplied.

Livestock Containers

Livestock containers are fabricated almost entirely in aluminium giving a strong but lightweight, durable construction. The livestock container is fully welded; the pressed side sheets are welded to box section posts at 1150mm intervals, and the floor is welded all round. The fully welded design prevents effluent from leaking through onto the trailer.

Optional Extras

The majority of Stewart trailers are built to order with a wide variety of optional extra items. Technology from the commercial vehicle industry is used to offer some optional extra items that improve efficiency, save time, enhance safety or all three. If you are looking for a trailer with particular features then please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your requirements.
